I NTRODUCTION TO THE I NFUSER (B UBBLER ) VCS Limited

S TAGE 2 CAN PAY FOR ITSELF Stage 2 vapour is a collection of vapour from the cars fuel tanks, which would otherwise be lost, and whilst being environmentally friendly it is in fact an Indirect Delivery to your tank farm

B ASIC P RINCIPLE OF S TAGE 2

S TAGE 2 – T HE P RINCIPLES One litre of fuel is pumped into a car tank then one litre of Vapour/Air mixture is returned to your storage tank. The vapour concentration in the mixture is approx 50% vapour air mixture and we know that 846 litres of saturated vapour is equivalent to 1 litre of fuel. Every litre of mixture returned this equates to 0.00591 litres of fuel returned to the storage tank.

S TAGE 2 - R ETURN ON I NVESTMENT Perhaps 0.000591 litres doesn’t sound much..... But if you sell 2,500,000 litres of petrol then this is 2,500,000 x 0.000591 litres of fuel Giving you 1,477 litres How can you save some of this..........

S TAGE 2 A DVANTAGES Stage 2 is a legal requirement to recover vapour displaced from the car via the pump Every Litre sold returns a litre of air/vapour content Environmentally Friendly Cleaner and Safer environment on the forecourt for clients.

S TAGE 2 A NOMALIES Causes instability with large temperature variations Prevents stable stratification within the storage tanks Causes excessive pressures (vapour growth). Extra expense with installation and maintenance. Vapour collected is retrieved by tanker or Petrol Company

S TAGE 2 The Technical Bit

T ANK D ELIVERIES – S TAGE 1B Most stage 2 vapour is taken by the tanker during a delivery

S TAGE 2 – T HE EFFECTS Pressure Increase in all the petrol storage tanks Extreme vapour generation due to large thermal differences. (Mainly colder months) Venting of excess pressure out to the atmosphere from P/V valve.

S TAGE 2 – T EMPORARY S OLUTION Orifice plates or P/V with relief hole. This 8-10 mm hole is a controlled leak to release excess pressure due to vapour expansion

S TAGE 2 – T EMPORARY P ROBLEMS o Possibility of vapour venting to atmosphere. o Increased wet stock losses. Expansion, can sometimes only be resolved with a delivery of petrol fuel product. Environmentally (Not Good).

S TAGE 2 – S OLUTION Introduction to the Infuser

P RINCIPLES OF I NFUSER The infuser works by: Stabilising the incoming vapour with that of the vapour content in the storage tank. Promoting a balanced stratification of the vapour within all the petrol tanks. Separating the incoming air/vapour mixture to create liquid. Releasing the air at top of the tank to settle on the vapour layer. Creating a higher level of condensate within all the storage tanks. Having higher air content, in the top of the tank, which is first released to the tanker as part of Stage 1b system

S TAGE 2 – T HE I NFUSER Distribution Manifold Distributes the air inside the storage tank

S TAGE 2 – I NFUSER B ENEFITS Improved site safety Easily Installed Reduced operational pressures No moving parts Minimum maintenance Tank life span Payback on investment (0.06%)
