Enable OpenCloud Ecosystems for Digital SME’s Innovation Catalyst 1 pager Introduction Learn more about this Catalyst : Business Scenario Use Cases Innovation Catalyst Contributors (& ) Digital SME Use Cases Digital SME Order the product Digital SME Change the product Digital SME Terminate the product Developer Marketplace Use Cases Developer Rapid Integration of APIs and App Development Developer Host App in the Marketplace TMF Catalyst to innovate a commercial Digital SME offer for the end to end ecosystem analyzing TMF Open APIs and Framework to realize the service provider Future Mode of Operation Hosted in Vodafone – Huawei OpenCloud Joint Innovation Center Vodafone as Champion, Centina ICT Assurance, InverCloud UX Portal & SaaS MarketPlace, Infosys Integration & Apigee API Gateway Huawei Orchestrator, vCPE, SDN/NFV, ICT Infrastructure Kick off Nov 15 TMF ‘Catalyst In Focus’ Dallas, US Workshops Feb 16 TMF Action Week Lisbon, Portugal ‘Hot-House’ Full Team April 11th Newbury Lab, UK Live Demonstration May 9th-12th , 2016 TMF Live Nice, France

3 Scope and Objectives Business Problem the Catalyst is Addressing
Today CSPs serve Enterprise well, at TMFlive15, we identified the need to focus on Business Innovation on SME market to enable us to bridge the gap between commercial and technology, these SME’s are innovative and need to be served via Portals, APIs, could we apply Amazon models for a CSP driven SME service How to enable a mass market SME offering that will enable a service provider to offer a mass market bundle of Digital SME services that is compelling for SMEs to consider a service provider alternative to internet players How to enable the Service Provider to orchestrate a Digital SME offer that crosses network, cloud and application boundaries How to enable a Digital SME to leverage Open API’s to build their own applications and host applications on a service provider Open cloud Understand the impact of FMO (future mode of operation) business models for business operations using multiple context journeys Technical Problem the Catalyst is Addressing How to leverage SDN/NFV and cloud technologies to deliver agile service and meet SME real-time and on-demand experience Usage of TMF API’s to realize a Digital SME service providing access to service provider OpenCloud with a managed vCPE and CloudVPN service Analysis of the Open API’s for service and resource management to support ZooM for a Digital SME Address the Open API and Framework gaps in Service & Resource Management focused on Digital SME Leverage TMF standards that can support the use cases Identify extensions to TMF standards and make recommendations Identify gaps to TMF standards and make recommendations Analysis of the capabilities of FMO architectures to Deliver OpenCloud Ecosystem for Digital SME’s

4 Bridge the Gap across Open Digital, ZOOM & Customer Experience
Digital Ecosystem Reference Architecture (DERA) context “Think of the Digital SME as an enabler for DERA Customer Experience Digital SME B2B customer with little ICT skills using embedded B2B2X services Digital SME Digital Service Provider Operations supporting Mass Market with automated Design & Support processes Digital SME B2B2X Developer looking for open AWS like Network as a Services + Cloud Services Digital Smart City SME Digital Health Smart Energy Digital Finance ZOOM Open Digital Ecosystem

6 Delivering Open Cloud Eco-System for the Digital SME
Some of the Highlights of our Journey To Innovate a commercial Digital SME offer for the end to end ecosystem analyzing TMF Open APIs and Framework to realize the service provider Future Mode of Operation Bridging the Gap across Open Digital Economy, ZooM & Customer Centricity An End-2-End Customer Journey : Service Order Creation to Assurance & Monitoring A Developer Journey into the Service Provider Marketplace Gap analysis between counterparts services from VF CSM and TMF at the entity level API design type differentiation is also underway as a separate activity within VF Systems CoE Potential benefits; API re-use, Continuous improvement, Contributions Catalog Governance Model & Catalog Offerings for VPN contributions “The problem we are aiming to solve is have a mass market offering that attracts Digital SMEs to Open Cloud infrastructure so that we can generate new revenue in partnership with Digital SME’s with an Open API architecture,” Dr. Lester Thomas, Chief Systems Architect at Vodafone Group

7 Business Scenario Catalyst Context

18 Next steps – Phase 2 High Level thinking within Vodafone re Roadmap of Catalyst – not confirmed – Ideal Top Priorities (thoughts from Lester & Atul) Business Scenarios : Add New uses cases for 5G, Network Slicing,  IoT to target the catalyst as a platform to help focus on Vodafone Wireless strength , rather than its weakness in Fixed Fiber access for vCPE which is only in a smaller number of OpCo’s.  Specifically, VDF requested we add the work of the SPO Lab concepts onto our catalyst scenarios. Focus on TMF Contribution for more TMF Recognition, now that Lester understands the Catalyst Judging model – this was his 1st time. Need to not just staff the catalyst but also network across the TMF Contribution teams of ZOOM, API’s, Catalog etc. to ensure the contributions are understood and differentiated. On-boarding Developers to use API’s, VNF and Apps, .e.g. Suger CRM, Enterprise APP’s On boarding Developer as per the TMF Catalyst demo we showed at the TMF Live!, but real. On-boading NFV etc. as per the MV Ecosystem demo we showed at the Huawei SRM, but real On-boarding an Enterprise App which we hinted at in the TMF Catalyst , demanding Cloud  & App Orchestration (not just NFV-O, SDN-O)

19 Next Steps – Phase 2 Atul’s early creative thinking re Use Cases – to be discussed as a team , then confirmed: Network Slice There are a number of different types of network slice use cases under discussion: MBB: Mobile Broadband: Provision of high data rates for use in urban and suburban environments MMC: Man-Machine Communication (e.g. premium video / audio services) M2M: Machine to Machine (e.g. auto-measurement, statistics collection) MTC: Machine Type Communications (e.g. monitoring and automation of buildings and infrastructure, smart agriculture, logistics, tracking and fleet management) Micro-operators / MVNOs utilizing parts of the operator’s network through network slices One particular feature of 5G is low latency, which itself offers new opportunities: Automotive Control (inter-car communications/driverless cars) Remote machinery (e.g. excavators in mines and wood processors in forests limiting the need for people to work in hazardous environments or maybe to increase efficiency) Medical Monitoring Gaming: One market segment is believed to be the Gaming community who are prepared to pay a premium for low latency

20 Where to next ? Phase II Re- Group
Look at VDF Priorities , map to Huawei MV Program Huawei Charter, Resources etc Are VAD on board? Map of events Participants, new , outside ICT, do we part company?
