4 Arts and Humanities Business and Industry Public Services STEM Multidisciplinary ****** These can not be changed without parent/ guardian’s permission AND YOUR SIGNATURES! Unless that happens BEFORE going to the computer labs, students will continue on the same pathway they’re already on. ******

5 Students who entered 9 th grade in 2011 or after must pass 5 STAAR end-of-course (EOC) exams in:  English 1  English 2  Biology  Algebra  US History (11 th grade) Minimum is not passing. If students meet the Minimum score, but do not meet Level II Satisfactory, they will be required to take the test over.

6  Know their credits and STAAR (EOC) scores!  Pass all classes.  Attend class 90% of the time OR MORE!  Come to tutoring and intersession. Work to get the highest score on the EOC possible.  Use their Short Cycle Assessment data to help them know how they are doing and what they still need to learn.  Shoot for 20 credits by the time senior year begins (18 just isn’t enough).

7  Take the TSI on February 23.  Sign up today or by Feb 1 in the Counseling Office  Apply for Austin Community College  Do the Pre Assessment Activity  Take the TSI test Reading and Writing  Sophomores are able to take 2 ACC classes each semester = 8 college classes for FREE. (Flat rate fees start Fall ‘17.)  Summer of 2016 – Strategies for College Success and Intro to Visual Arts  Fall of 2016 – Comp 1 and US History 1  Spring of 2017 – Comp 2 and US History 2  Summer of 2017 – TBD  Choose ACC dual credit when they are entering their courses for 2016-2017.

8  GPA/Grades/Rank  Junior year is the last year shown on transcripts for college admissions and some scholarship deadlines!  Courses  Test Scores  Essays  Letters of Recommendation  Extracurricular activities ( should illustrate leadership/dedication/service )  Start resume`s now!

10  If a student ever needs an official transcript, see Mrs. Crouch in the Registrar’s office.  Will need a request form from her and $2.00  If a student attendance hours they need to make up, see Mrs. Malina (AP office).  If they’re struggling in class, attending tutorials or setting up additional time with their teacher should help.  Your GPA and Class Rank are found on the bottom of their transcript and are updated each semester.
