1 Is your drinking water safe? Drinking Water Hometest Series Please check with “Drinking Water Hometest Series” Drinking Water Hometest suggest simple and easy drinking water safety monitoring by self- conducting bacterial test in home. The protocol is very simple and the principle, color change of water sample induced by bacteria’s specific enzyme reaction, is recommended as official test method for water safety test in many countries. ▶ Specific enzyme reaction coupled with color change! (for Coliforms & E. coli) ▶ Easy protocol and convenient testing! High reliability Rapid detection Safewasting ● ● Even if you are not a scientist, you can test bacterial safety of water sample by yourself with our “Drinking Water Hometest” because the protocol is very simple and everything’s prepared in kits. ● ● You can read the result within 18 hrs to 24 hrs. ● ● You can achieve reliable test result with our principle, so called “color change of water sample induced by bacteria-specific enzyme reaction” is recommended as official test method for water safety test in many countries. ● ● It is so sensitive and reliable as even one bacterium is detected. ● ● We provide safe wasting of the test materials with Bacterzero, natural-origin bacteria sterilization reagent. After testing add Bacterzero into your water sample and prohibit secondary contamination. 2 Redox dye (2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride, TTC) is converted to formazan because of reduction by dehydrogenase of bacteria, which indicates red color. Reduction by Dehydrogenase Triphenyl- tetrazolium chloride Formazan Principle Add 20 mL sample to a medium tube with a filled volume of 4 mL. Add 1 mL substrate to the medium tube filled with sample plus medium. Incubate the sample with medium at 35~37 ℃ for 16~24 hrs. (at ambient temp. for 36 hrs.) 235 Test Procedure Interpretation of Result If aerobic bacteria exist in your drinking water, the color of the medium will be changed to red slowly. The color concentration depends on the number of aerobic bacteria. Negative for total aerobes Positive for total aerobes 1 4 BacterView for total aerobes Cat. No.ProductDescriptionQ/TPacking HW001BacterView BcaterView Medium (4 mL) 2 tubes 2 tests/box BacterView Substrate (1 mL) 2 vials BacterZero (4 mL) 1 ea BacterView is a kit detecting total aerobic bacteria in your drinking water, which change the color to red. Total aerobic bacteria indicate contamination or stability of water and exist widely in river, ground water, soil, foods, air and so on. They grow in the presence of oxygen and too many numbers can cause stomach disorder or diarrhea. Specification Drinking Water Hometest Storage condition and Shelf life ● Dark place, 4~25 ℃ ● 6 months after manufacture Read the result Add 2 mL of BacterZero to the test-finished tube and mix. Leave for 30 min. and discard it inside into a toilet.

3 Principle ColiView for coliforms Cat. No.ProductDescriptionQ/TPacking HW002ColiView ColiView Medium (4 mL) 2 tubes 2 tests/box ColiView Substrate (1 mL) 2 vials BacterZero (4 mL) 1 ea Coliview is a kit testing presence and absence of coliforms in your drinking water allows specific enzyme-chromogenic substrate reaction. Coliforms are important indicators of fecal contamination. If coliform bacteria exist (blue color), you should enhance hygiene practice because the result provide a possibility of other food poisoning pathogens. β-galactosidase X-gal If coliforms are present, they use the enzyme β- galactosidase (produced by all coliforms, including E.coli) to metabolize the specific color-producing substrate, X-gal and the medium changes color from near colorless to blue. 4 Drinking Water Hometest After incubation, the color of medium in reaction bottle would be changed to blue under presence of total coliforms in sample water. On the other hand, color of medium would not be changed under absence of total coliforms in sample. Add 20 mL sample to a medium tube with a filled volume of 4 mL. Add 1 mL substrate to the medium tube filled with sample plus medium. Incubate the sample with medium at 35~37 ℃ for 16~24 hrs. (at ambient temp. for 36 hrs.) 23 Test Procedure Interpretation of Result 1 Add 2 mL of BacterZero to the test-finished tube and mix. Leave for 30 min. and discard it inside into a toilet. 5 Read the result Storage condition and Shelf life ● Dark place, 4~25 ℃ ● 6 months after manufacture Specification Negative for coliforms Positive for coliforms

4 5 Coliform-positive reaction turns the medium blue. The blue color means that total coliforms are present in the sample. If no color change means that there are no presence of total coliforms in the test sample. E. coli-positive reaction caused the medium to fluorescence under a long- wavelength UV lamp (365nm). If a bright blue fluorescence is observed, this indicates that MUG-positive E. coli bacteria are present. E.ColiView for coliforms & E. coli Cat. No.ProductDescriptionQ/TPacking HW003E.ColiView E.ColiView Medium (4 mL) 2 tubes 2 tests/box E.ColiView Substrate (1 mL) 2 vials BacterZero (4 mL) 1 ea E.Coliview use specific enzyme-chromogenic substrate reaction to simultaneously detect total coliforms and E.coli from home and environmental water samples. Coliforms including E. coli are important indicators of fecal contamination. If they exist (blue color) in your drinking water, you should enhance hygiene practice of it because the result provide a possibility of other food poisoning pathogens. Drinking Water Hometest X-gal MUG β-glucuronidase β-galactosidase If coliforms are present, they use the enzyme β- galactosidase to metabolize X-gal and the medium changes color from near colorless to blue. If E.coli are present, they use β-glucuronidase (produced by E.coli strains but not by general coliforms) to metabolize MUG and create fluorescence. 4 Read the result Specification Principle Add 20 mL sample to a medium tube with a filled volume of 4 mL.
