Technology of healthcare  BY: seemeka Johnson

Technology of healthcare Doctors now know that genetics play a part in possibly passing on diseases from one generation to another. Knowing a patient's health history because of the role genetic testing has played in identifying diseases passed on from generation to generation can give doctors an early start on what to look for in a patient. Vaccines have also played an important role in prevention of diseases and technology has allowed the newest vaccines to prevent certain types of cancers.

Ways technology has changed the healthcare  Imaging techniques Xray, MRI,CT,DXA,Bone Scans, Ultrasounds, Mammograms etc.  have all changed the medical field drastically. They are making it much easier to diagnose diseases earlier and for catching problems that have not yet caused any symptoms through regular screening tests.

How technology has changed healthcare in todays world  Drug development, especially the newer targeted biotechnical drugs which effect the DNA of disease, are a prime example. Additionally, there are instruments like a pacemaker, artificial hip, etc. that have all promoted improvements in available treatments. And, laser So many surgeries today are being performed using lasers that would have required major surgical intervention.

Things we use in todays healthcare  The healthcare industry is changing rapidly from new developments driven by advancements in medicine, pharmaceuticals and technology. It is estimated that 30 percent of the systems will be replaced in the next five years. However, the systems will have better patient tracking and more convenient payment processing, as well as have diagnostic tools and recommendations that will be built into the systems. Part of this is driven by new regulations, and part of the change is occurring because the software is just beginning to catch up to what the practices need.

Ways technology healthcare helps  Once used primarily as back-office record keepers and financial calculators, computers and their networks now play increasingly significant roles in patient care. They are increasingly used by health-care practitioners for patient information, record keeping, communicating with colleagues, devising strategies for patient care, interpreting lab results, and research. The fast processors and large memory capacity of today's computers, along with the Internet and other networks, have expanded the role of computers into virtually every aspect of health care.

How computer help in technology healthcare  The Internet can also educate people about disease prevention and help them adopt a healthy lifestyle. Specialty websites, whose topics range from mental health to infectious diseases, allow individuals to conduct disease screenings and lifestyle and quality-of-life assessments.

More ways technology healthcare has helped  The Internet has quickly become an integral part of health care. Patients can check their medical records, research drug interaction information, or find information on clinical trials and experimental medical treatment. Health care practitioners use the Internet for research, to gain continuing medical education (CME) credits, and to check patient information. To help manage this information overload, several websites provide customized health information and access to research tools such as the National Library of Medicine's Medline/PubMed, a search engine that provides access to millions of citations from research journals.
