2 ColorColor Color is often called the most significant of all decorating tools. Color affects how people feel. It can evoke specific memories or emotions, it can play tricks on your mind, or it can trigger certain thoughts in your mind. 3

3 ColorColor Primary colors are yellow, red, and blue. They cannot be created by mixing any other colors together. Secondary colors are orange, violet, and green. They are made by mixing equal parts of two primary colors together. Tertiary colors, or intermediate colors, are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-violet, blue- violet, blue-green, and yellow-green. They are made by combining a primary color with a neighboring secondary color. D

4 ColorColor Monochromatic is a color scheme using tints and shades of one color.

5 ColorColor Analogous is a color scheme using colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.

6 ColorColor Complementary is a color scheme using two colors that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel.

7 ColorColor Split-Complementary is a color scheme using three colors. One (1st) color and the two (2nd, 3rd) colors on each side of the 1st color’s complement.
