IV – Conclusion: The performing of this investigation as well as of similar others, acquire great significance, in so far as, on one side, it will contribute to the analysis and sharing of teaching and learning experiences, which can help better comprehend the educational context and on the other side, it could be the source of information on methods, strategies and resources which could be helpful to the application in the classrooms with the purpose of becoming more efficient the teaching and concepts that traditionally are of difficult comprehension. Universidade de Coimbra On the Interactive Whiteboard Simulator – Impacts on the teaching of Physics Candida Aparecida Machado*, Pedro Vieira Alberto**, Maria Augusta Vilalobos Filipe Pereira Nascimento*** *Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Department of Physics, University of Coimbra, Portugal **AFisUC, Department of Physics, University of Coimbra, Portugal ***AMatUC,Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra, Portugal II – Objectives: - Develop and implement a software of simulation to subjects of Mechanic, using the Visual Pythn so that it is able to be used on the Interactive Whiteboard. - Contribute to the usage of technologies in the teaching of sciences in special of Physics and Mechanic in secondary teaching, checking how the Interactive Whiteboard interactions can improve learning. - Evaluate the implication resulting from, at the level of procedure and results, the usage of software of simulation - Define good practises to the usage of Interactive Whiteboard in the teaching of Physics, to the study of Mechanic. - Reflect and analyse theoretically in relation to the interactions on the Interactive Whiteboards in the teaching of Physics to change the everyday practises. - Evaluate the evolution of attitude of teacher's and students of the classroom during the pedagogical intervention. - Observe and analyse the procedure and dynamic involved. I - Importance of the investigation: - The importance of performing practical activities in the teaching of Physics. - The difficulties faced by the teachers who intend to implement these type of strategy. -The low frequency of performing experimental activities with digital resources, which is related to the lack of education of teachers concerning Interactive Whiteboard and software of simulation as well as to their construction. - The importance in performing activities of computational simulation in the context of classroom, in the teaching of Physics. III - Expected Results: We expect with this investigation to be the stimulators of the usage of Interactive Whiteboard in the teaching of Physics. We aim that the education and cooperation to be performed with the teachers involved in this investigation beyond their learning, provides support to the investigators in the improvement and betterment of the software constructed, namely we believe that with their contribution the material produced becomes more efficient. This work will enable learning Mechanic in a more interacting, challenging, motivational and significant manner, where the student will participate on this procedure testing his or her hypothesis about the subject, discussing the results and after that validating them. In this context the role of the teacher is of great importance, because it is the teacher who will direct the observation performed through the simulator, provide explanation and promote interactions with the help of the Interactive Whiteboard, adjusting them to the presented content and to the cognitive level of the students. In order that other members of the educational community can also use the Interactive Whiteboard as an added value to teaching, as well as to using the simulators in the teaching of Physics, in special of Mechanic, we will make the simulator software constructed available and also the activities for it on a page of the Web and a workshop.
