5 Be Prepared: ● A pencil and pen(always) ● Your password and login information for the computers at school ● A USB drive (strongly recommended) ● A graph paper notebook (or grid paper binder)

6 Entering the Classroom Make sure your electronic devices (including headphones) are off and out of view Enter the classroom silently once you are invited in Check for messages on the front board, loudspeaker, or me.

7 Tracking the Speaker: SLANT Always watch the person speaking (me or another student) Watching helps us not only pay attention, but it also shows respect Never talk when the speaker is talking

8 5-Second Count When I need your attention and focus on me, I will countdown I will need everyone’s attention before I get to zero I may also clap my hands to get everyone’s attention

9 Getting Out of Your Seat Stay in your seat while instruction is being given. Do not leave until given permission. Once teacher instruction is over, one person at a time may get a tissue, get water, go to the bathroom if needed. Return promptly to your seat.

10 Bathroom Break Only one person at a time. Write the time, date, your name on your bathroom pass sheet. Bring to me to sign. There will be no BR visits during the first 10 minutes of class or within 10 minutes of dismissal

11 Pencil Sharpening Use a personal sharpener at your desk Use your spare pencil If neither of those are an option, you may use the electric sharpeners when I am done with instruction (1 at a time) Return to your seat quickly and quietly

12 First Things First Fill in I did it sheet with Learning Target. Read the Screen for any instructions Read silently if done

13 Classwork Turn-in Most classwork will be turned in via SWIFT (my website) Any paper-based work will be turned into the appropriate inbox bin at the side of the room All work must have first and last name, date, and period on it Return any classroom tools to their proper location. (i.e. staplers, hole-punch, etc.)

14 Absentee Check SWIFT (my website) When returning from an absence, find your absentee work on my website Ask a friend or me if you have any questions about the assignment

15 Absentee If you have complex questions, need a review of material, or need to work on make up work in the room, you are always welcome to come in before or after school or at lunch Just check with me first to make sure I won’t be in a meeting.

17 Using Class Tools and Supplies Use community property with care Refill staples if needed Always put things back neatly and in their proper place Let me know if anything is broken or out of stock Do not ever print without my permission

18 Cell Phones/Electronic Devices Cell phones and headphones must be OFF and OUT OF SIGHT. I will continue to enforce the no-use policy: I will confiscate phones if I hear or see them and students will have to pick them up in the office after school. More than one violation of this rule, and phones will only be released to parents.. Exceptions may be made at my discretion as we move forward with integrating technology into our curriculum.
