12 YEAR 9 DANCE ACADEMY This is open to students entering year 9 at MAGS who have previous dance experience and OR demonstrate a passion for dance. Students will learn different genres of dance for performances from dance teachers and guest industry professionals. Students also learn to create their own choreography, view dance performance and investigate a dance style of their choice. 13 Year 9 Drama Academy This course is open to students entering Year 9 at MAGS who have had previous experience in drama OR who are passionate about doing drama. Students will work with a variety of scripts and drama genres, devise their own plays and develop performance skills. Students will work in groups and acquire skills in collaboration and problem solving. The emphasis in the course is on developing confident self-expression and performance techniques. This course is open to students entering Year 9 at MAGS who have had previous experience in drama OR who are passionate about doing drama. Students will work with a variety of scripts and drama genres, devise their own plays and develop performance skills. Students will work in groups and acquire skills in collaboration and problem solving. The emphasis in the course is on developing confident self-expression and performance techniques.
