3.  Economic Depression : Low economic activity and High levels of unemployment › This occurred throughout the WORLD › This cause people to become desperate for a leader who could bring wealth back to their countries

4.  Germany: Extremists get voted into power (HITLER)  France: formed workers unions and collective bargaining- gave unions the right to negotiate with employers  Great Britain: John Maynard Keynes proposed deficit spending- government builds to hire the unemployed, the unemployed will spend their $ and all industries will get more money

5.  The US: Franklin Delano Roosevelt proposed The New Deal which included bank reforms, union reforms, social security, unemployment, welfare, etc
