2 Nazım Hikmet Ran known as Nazım Hikmet was a Turkish poet, playwrigt, novelist and memorist. He was acclaimed for the “lyrical flow of his statements”. Described as a “romantic communist” and “romantic revolutionary”.

3 He was repeatedly arrested for his political beliefss and spent much of his adult life in prison or in exile. Reached an international reputation and name of the 20th who lived in the first half century has been called the world's greatest poets.

4 His works translated into many languages. A total of 11 case is a member of the Communist Party of Turkey judged separately. His works has received many awards. He spent most of his life in prison in Turkey and Turkish citicenship was later went to Moscow. Nazim Hikmet, who entered prison in 1938, and the poems are prohibited. In 1965, two years after the death of his poems, but again Turkey has gained importance.

5 Nazım Hikmet was born in Salonica, Ottoman Empire. He came from a cosmopoşitan and distinguished family. His father Hikmet Bey, in Thessaloniki, the Ministry of External (Foreign Ministry), a working civil servants.

6 He wrote his first poetry in 1913. He started Galatasaray Secondary School in 1913 and he pass to Heybeliada Naval Academy in 1917. He went to Moscow and he studied at University of Moscow, the Communist Workers increasingly literate East. He met witnesses the first years of revolution and communism in 1921, Moscow. Later he turn back Turkey and he studied at “Bright Magazine”.

7 He took twenty- eight-year prison sentence in 1938. He was imprisoned 12 years. He went to the Soviet Union under Stalin in 1950. He followed the removal of citizenship in Turkey by the Council of Ministers in July 25, 1951, he took the last name of the Polish citizenship through the Borzecki.

8 He died of a heart attack in June 3, 1963. Turkey was taken back him to citizenship in January 5, 2009.
