International R&D Project EPS Project Proposal on Research on Lightweight Electric Vehicles - LEVs L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Project aim L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland This research project is devoted to developing of technical visions of the way in which various LEVs can be applied to the everyday life Three basic lightweight electric vehicles: bikes, Segways and a skateboards will be considered as tools for outdoor/indoor transportation

What are LEVs? L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Why LEVs? Lightweight electric vehicles to be legal in road traffic ACC Press release 17.09.2015 A legislative reform is to be submitted to EU parliament, which would allow the use of e.g. kickboards with electric engines and Segway type devices in road traffic. According to the legislation currently in place, the aforementioned vehicles can only be used in closed areas and indoors. L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Project goal To take part in creative activity seeing the role of R&D teamwork in new - emerging and innovative technology implementation To develop logistics of the LEVs use by the wide group of consumers The general assumption for this project is that the group of students forms a small virtual company – SVC, which has an ambition to be a player on the market of innovations. L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Research The electric bikes and mini Segway will be tested in computer modelled environment and on the real roads.

Research This way will be possible optimizing their performance and energy saving when they are used in a smart city. Also students can check practically their own ideas in the lab in which they can test the models and upgraded commercial products to evaluate their innovative properties. The DIY model will be tested in the lab.

Project Proposal This EPS project is especially addressed to students SVC for understanding a potential of emerging technologis in diverse and revolutionary changes in the human life. SVC will work out the required Project Proposal Paperwork including addressing of: strategic objectives, scientific and technological excellence, preparing the work plan with necessary work packages and the financial plan. L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Technical University of Lodz Poland

The project includes some elements of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering Business Studies Telecommunication Electronic & Electrical Engineering Biotechnology Fibre and Textile other ELEMENTS may be included L.Szymanski, Z. Kolacinski, Lodz University of Technology, Poland
