3. Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) Released in February 2008 Became critical update and part of Automatic Updates in March 2008 Fixed most common bugs identified by Windows Error Reporting Improved multimedia performance and overall performance in some cases Included all prior updates for Vista

4. Monthly Patches Microsoft releases patches for Windows Vista every month after SP1 excluding March and May 2008. Some of these patches fixed critical problems while others were minor updates.

Monthly Patches February 2008 – 7 MB, 4 critical problems April 2008 – 6 MB, 4 critical problems June 2008 – 1.5 MB, 3 critical problems July 2008 – 7 MB, 1 critical problem August 2008 – 1.5 MB, 4 critical problems September 2008 – 2 MB, 2 critical problems October 2008 – 5 MB, 5 non-critical problems November 2008 – 5 MB, 5 non-critical problems

6. Service Pack 2 (SP2) Beta version just released to general public Will include all updates since SP1 Will “improve performance for Wi-Fi connection after resuming from sleep mode”

7. Updating Windows Vista Windows Automatic Updates –Turn on to allow updates to be downloaded and installed automatically as they are released Microsoft Windows Update website –http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ –Detect which updates are installed and which need to be
