10 Fall 2008 Certificate in Sustainability Course Objective To provide an understanding of the basic concepts behind sustainability and to demonstrate the relationships between today’s resource use and future economic, social and environmental conditions. To allow students to understand what changes can be made in the way our civilization uses resources, and how the negative impact of using resources for human activity can be mitigated, or even eliminated.
