Listening is an act of communication Hearing is the way of perceiving sound. Sympathetic listening is to perceive other people Critical listening is the ability to differentiate facts from opinion. Creative listening means listening with an open mind to new ideas. Productivity is the input and output of money in a business KEY TERMS

Work rules are the do’s and don’ts at work Absenteeism is the number of absences from work Self-esteem is a self-respect and recognition from others. Self-actualization is to grow and to be creative. Hygiene factors are job elements that dissatisfy when absent but do not add to satisfaction when present. Motivators are job elements that increase job satisfaction. KEY TERMS
