1 Colossians 1:21 – 23 “FROM ENEMY TO FRIEND” WHAT DOES RECONCILIATION WITH GOD REQUIRE OF YOU?

2 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds as shown by (because of) your evil behaviour. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation — 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

6 John 15 verse 18 “If the world hates you keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

7 “Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds as shown by your evil behavior.”

8 Verse 22 “But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.”

10 What You Need to Do 1. admit that you are powerless over your evil nature 2. accept that you have been God’s enemy and alienated from him all along 3. tell God you’re sorry for all your previous hostility towards him 4. tell God you long to be welcomed by him, clean and pure 5. accept that Jesus has paid the price for your rescue from slavery to evil (sin)
