3 The Cheetah According to the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Animals, the average cheetah can run 97 km/h

4 Description The cheetah has a skinny, long-legged body with blunt semi- retractile claws. The male is slightly larger than the female. His body colour is tan with small black spots, and has coarse, short hair. Adult body length 105- 152 cm; tail length 51- 87 cm; shoulder height 62-86 cm; weight 31-64kg. The cheetah has a small head with high- set eyes.

7 Habitat Cheetahs do well in areas with a lot of land where prey is abundant. Namibian cheetahs have been discovered in a variety of habitats, including grasslands, savannahs, dense vegetation, and mountainous terrain.
