2 Accurate Driving Instructors: Accurate Driving LLC has Seven Behind The Wheel Instructors: Our team of instructors is among the most experienced in Hawai'i. They represent more than 100 years of experience teaching novice drivers. All the instructors are:  State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Certified  Owned businesses as driving instructors before 2001  American Automobile Asociation Driver Improvement Program Certified  Insured to conduct driver education (both vehicle and commercial general liability) Consistency:  Our instructors follow the same programs for classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. We conduct instructor meetings regularly to share training concepts, new material, discuss challenges instructors experience and ways to resolve those challenges. Meetings ensure our instructors have the opportunity to improve their teaching skills and are kept up-to-date with leading edge information. Enthusiasm:  Our instructors' credentials reflect an experienced and knowledgeable team. What is not reflected in our instructors' credentials is the enthusiasm of that team. We all enjoy working with teens and do our best to make the lessons interesting and fruitful.  Note: We are a private company and do not allow Driver Education Instructors not affiliated with Accurate Driving LLC to utilize our classroom to promote their business. You may pay separately for the Classroom and Behind The Wheel (BTW) training, but we do not allow the use of an outside instructor for the BTW training.

10 When your teen passes the Road Test they will be issued a Provisional Driver’s License

11 Provisional Driver’s License Rules  All occupants must wear a seatbelt or child passenger safety restraint.  Cannot transport more than one person under the age of eighteen who is not from the same household unless accompanied by a licensed driver who is the teen’s parent or guardian  Between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the licensed driver must be a parent or guardian with a license in the same category as the teen’s license, except when:

12 Provisional Driver’s License Rules 1. Driving to or from the teen’s place of employment if no other transportation is available. The teen needs to have a signed statement from the employer containing:  Employer’s name  Employer’s address  Employer’s telephone number  Verifying employment and work hours

The teen needs to have a signed statement from a parent or guardian containing:  Parent’s or Guardian’s name  Parent’s or Guardian’s address  Parent’s or Guardian’s telephone number  Verifying driving is necessary to travel to the school-authorized activity

14 Violating Provisional License Rules First Offense:  Suspension of license for:  Three months, or:  Until the teen is 18 years old, whichever occurs sooner Second Offense: Second Offense:  Revocation of license for:  Six months, or:  Until the teen is 18 years old, whichever occurs sooner

15 Penalties for Conviction of a Traffic Offense  First Offense:  Suspension or revocation of license for:  Six months, or:  Until the teen is 18 years old, whichever occurs sooner  Second Offense:  Revocation of license for:  12 months, or:  Until the teen is 18 years old, whichever occurs later

16 A Regular License will be issued when The holder of the provisional license: The holder of the provisional license: 1. Has held the provisional license for at least six months; 2. Has no pending proceeding that might result in the suspension or revocation of the provisional license; 3. Is at least 17 years old; If the license is not suspended or revoked it will expire on the licensee’s nineteenth birthday. If the license is not suspended or revoked it will expire on the licensee’s nineteenth birthday.

17 When do you notify your insurance company? From the Fall 2003 issue of GEICO DIRECT: Insuring Your Teen Driver. When should you add them to your policy? Insuring Your Teen Driver. When should you add them to your policy? Once teens get their learner's permit, they must be added to your auto insurance policy. This is to protect you from any possible liabilities in the event your teen has an accident while driving - even while supervised by an adult.
