2. Los Pronombres: If the command is affirmative:  Attach pronoun on the end  Add accent to the 3rd syllable counting from the end If the command is negative:  Place the pronoun before the command, but after the “no” A syllable usually has one vowel. So just count 3 vowels.

3. Pronombres We will use three types of pronouns with our current list of verbs. Reflexive Pronouns – When using reflexive verbs Direct Object Pronouns – When performing an action to a person or an object (that object is the direct object of the sentence!) Indirect Object Pronouns –When directing an action or providing something to another person (that person is the indirect object of the sentence!)

7. Los pronombres de complemento directo meus youy’all him, you (form, masc) it (masc.) them, you all (masc.) them (masc.) her, you, (form, fem.) it (fem.) them, you all (fem.) them (fem.) me te lo la nos los las it and them are the most used os

8. Practiquemos… 1. ¡Cocina la cena! → Cook it! 2. ¡Barre el suelo! → Sweep it! 3. ¡Lava los platos! → Wash them! ¡Cocínala! ¡Bárrelo! ¡Lávalos!

9. Practiquemos… 4. ¡No hagas las camas ! → Don’t make them! 5. ¡No cortes el césped! → Don’t cut it! ¡No las hagas! ¡No lo cortes!

10. Practiquemos… 6. ¡Pon la mesa! → Set it! ¡Ponla! If there aren’t 3 vowels when you add the pronoun, then no accent is needed!

11. Los Pronombres: In an affirmative command, if two vowels are next to eachother, you still accent the third vowel (counting from the end).

12. Practiquemos… 1. Wake up ! 2. Go to bed! 3. Go to sleep! ¡Despiértate! ¡Acuéstate! ¡Duérmete!

13. Exceptions… afeitarse peinarse With the verbs afeitarse and peinarse, in an affirmative command, accent the fourth vowel.

14. Practiquemos… 1. Shave ! 2. Comb your hair! ¡Aféitate! ¡Péinate!

15. Exceptions… limpiar ensuciar ia With the verbs limpiar and ensuciar, in an affirmative command, count the ia as one vowel.

16. Practiquemos… 1. ¡Limpia la casa ! → Clean it! 2. ¡Ensucia los platos ! → Dirty them! ¡Límpiala! ¡Ensúcialos!

17. Los pronombres de complemento indirecto To meus To youy’all To you (formal), To him, To her To you all (formal), To them me te le nos les it and them are the most used os

18. Practiquemos… 1. ¡Cocina la cena para ella! → Cook her dinner! 2. ¡Compra el carro para tu amigo! → Buy him the car! 3. ¡Di el secreto a mí! → Tell me the secret! ¡Cocínale la cena! ¡Cómprale el carro! ¡Dime el secreto!

19. Practiquemos… 4. ¡No hagas la cama para nosotros! → Don’t make our bed for us! 5. ¡No leas el libro a ellos! → Don’t read the book to them! 6. ¡No des el lápiz a ella! → Don’t give her the pencil. ¡No nos hagas la cama! ¡No les leas el libro! ¡No le des el lápiz!

20. Pronombres Dobles: In any command form, if the indirect object pronouns are used with direct object pronouns, the indirect object pronoun ALWAYS comes before the direct object pronoun. 1. Give me the pen. → Give it to me! Dame la pluma. 2. Tell us the secret. → Tell it to us! ¡Dámela! ¡Dínoslo!

21. Pronombres Dobles: In any command form, if the indirect object pronouns are used with direct object pronouns, the indirect object pronoun ALWAYS comes before the direct object pronoun. 3. Don’t put the shoe on your head. → Don’t put it on! No pongas el zapato en la cabeza. ¡No te lo pongas!

22. Pronombres Dobles: With double pronouns attached to the end of the command, you now accent the FOURTH syllable (counting from the end). 1. Shave your beard. → Shave it! Aféitate la barba. → 2. Brush your teeth. Brush them! Cepíllate los dientes. → ¡Aféitatela! ¡Cepíllatelos!
