1. Installation Instruction for BRB-ArrayTools You need to have the administrative or elevated administrative right in current account to install BRB-ArrayTools. 2. Installation Steps 1.Download the installer. 2.Install BRB-ArrayTools. 3.Change the Excel macro security settings. 4.Activate BRB-ArrayTools.

3. 1. Download the installer Download the BRB-ArrayTools v4.4.1 Stable installer from the website: http://brb.nci.nih.gov/BRB-ArrayTools/download.html.

4. Run the downloaded installer executable file, ArrayTools_v4_4_1_Stable.exe, and follow the instruction on screen and click Yes. 2. Install BRB-ArrayTools

5. You need to accept the license agreement to continue. Click Next.

6. You may change the installation folder by click the Change button. Accept the default folder and click Next.

7. Click OK. Start installing R. Click OK.

8. Click Next.

10. Both 32-bit R and 64-bit R need to be installed. Click Next.

12. Click Finish to finish installing R.

13. Installing the Microsoft Vitual C++ 2010 x64 redistributable package. Click Install. Click Finish.

14. Installing the Microsoft Vitual C++ 2010 x86 redistributable package. Click Install. Click Finish.

15. Installing Java. If you have any version of Java installed, you can skip installing Java by selecting No. Click Yes. Click Install.

16. If you don’t have an older version of Java installed, it will not show this screen. Click Uninstall. Click Next.

17. Finish installing Java. Click Close. Installing CGHTools. You can select No, if you don’t want to install CGHTools Click Yes.

18. You need to accept the license agreement to continue. Click Next.

19. You may change the installation folder by click the Change button. Accept the default folder and click Next.

20. Finish installing CGHTools. Click Finish.

21. Finish installing BRB-ArrayTools. Click OK.

22. 3. Change the Excel macro security settings When you start Excel and see a screen as below, you need to change the macro security settings of your Excel. If you didn’t see the following screen, you don’t need to change Excel settings and you can skip this step and continue step 4.

23. Click the File tag from the Excel menu. Select Options.

24. Select the Trust Center, then click the Trust Center Settings … button.

25. Select the Macro Settings, then select: a.Enable all macros b.Check the Trust access to the VBA project object model Click OK.

27. Click Finished.

28. 4. Activate BRB-ArrayTools First you need to register at our guest website, http://linus.nci.nih.gov/~brb/guestbook.html, and get an email with a password. A successful registration will get the email in a minute. Type in your registration email address or password, and click Activate.

29. If you see the Welcome window, ArrayTools is activated successfully.

30. Now you can see the ArrayTools and CGHTools pulldown menus under the Excel Add-Ins, and you can use ArrayTools and CGHTools by click the menus.
