2 APERTURE PORTFOLIO PRIZE 2016 Created in 1952 by photographers and writers as common ground for the advancement of photography, Aperture today is a multi-platform publisher and centre that connects the photo community and its audiences with the most inspiring work, the sharpest ideas, and with each other - in print, in person, and online. The aim is to identify trends in contemporary photography and highlight artists whose work deserves greater recognition. The panel looks for innovative bodies of work that haven't been widely seen in major publications or exhibition venues.

3 Specifications of submission and eligibility Photographers may submit between six and twelve photographs (no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side), and you can enter as part of a team or collective (providing at least one member of the duo or collective is a current Aperture Member). Worldwide to Aperture Foundation Members only [see link how to become one] No entry fee First prize is 3,000 USD and an exhibition at Aperture Gallery. The first- prize winner and up to five runners-up will be featured on Aperture's website, accompanied by a brief statement written by Aperture staff.

4 ARTE LAGUNA PRIZE An international art award, aimed at enhancing Contemporary Art. The Prize obtained a medal from the President of the Italian Republic. An international jury will select 120 finalist artists for: 6 cash prizes of € 7.000 each major collective exhibition at the Arsenale of Venice 4 exhibitions in international Art Galleries 2 collaborations with Companies 7 Art Residencies 3 International Festivals the publication of the catalogue. 5 TERMS: Photographic Art photographs on analog or digital support, photos including digital elaborations. For the partial support of the organization expenses, the entry fee is 50.00 Euro for 1 work and 90.00 Euro for 2 works submitted to the same section; for every additional work (submitted to the same section) the fee is 45.00 Euro, to be paid as specified in ART. 6. For under-25 artists the entry fee is 45.00 Euro for 1 work and 80.00 Euro for 2 works submitted to the same section; for every additional work (submitted to the same section) the fee is 40.00 Euro each, with the obligation to send a copy of the artist’s ID card to info@artelagunaprize.com Artists must keep a copy of the payment. The entry fee is not refundable. info@artelagunaprize.com The transportation costs (round trip) and the artworks insurance costs will be at the expense of each artist.

6 LensCulture Visual Storrytelling Awards 2015 Show Us Your Story - we are searching for photography in Documentary, Personal Stories, Photojournalism, Fictional Narratives, and any other photography that tells a story. Deadline: Thursday, October 22, 2015 Visual Storytelling 2015 International Jury- six judges. [photographers, publishers, editors ect.] We invite entries in five categories of storytelling: Documentary, Photojournalism, Personal Stories, Fictional Narrative and an Open Category. Entries are welcome as Series, Mini-Series or as Single Images In addition, 20 Finalists will be selected across all five categories.

7 Entry fees: Series - $60 – 1-6 photos Mini-series - $40 – 2-5 photos Single image - $20 All photographers retain full copyrights for their own work.

8 Sony World Photography Awards 2016 The competition attract both emerging talent and established artists and present the world’s best contemporary photography from the last 12 months. Free to enter at www.worldphoto.org, photographers of all abilities are invited to submit work to any of the awards’ five competitions: Professional; Open; Youth; National Awards and Student Focus.www.worldphoto.org Professional categories are now divided into two distinct genres - Art and Documentary. The change is to provide a clearer structure in which photographers can be recognised. Both genres also include new category additions, with Art presenting the new Staged and Candid categories and Documentary now including Daily Life and Environment. As part of this partnership, the winning Student Focus photographer will receive an online feature showcasing a body of work on the BJP website and will also have the opportunity to take over the magazine’s Instagram feed.

9 Benefits: The Sony World Photography Awards offer a range of benefits to those who enter. Firstly, all submitted images are seen by juries made of up leading experts from across the photographic industry. Beyond this, awarded shortlisted and winning photographers are given global exposure and recognition and have the opportunity to promote and sell their work via the World Photography Organisation. The awards’ prizes include: the latest Sony digital imaging equipment; inclusion in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition at Somerset House, London; inclusion in the 2016 awards’ book and $30,000 (USD) for the overall winners. The Sony World Photography Awards shortlist will be announced on 23 February and overall winners on 21 April, with an exhibition at Somerset House, London running from 22 April - 8 May 2016.
