4 Green Prototype into Net Zero and Why

55 Base Building is Still the Same Green Potato

66 It all Starts with the Prototype (Green Potato) More than 80% of building components remain consistent High Performance Design –Design high performance prototype stores that can be replicated –Incorporate sustainable features into the design of green prototype stores –Introduce state of the art technologies that reduce energy consumption –Maximize the use of renewable energy

77 Woodland Park, NJ. 1235 McBride Ave Store Opened 4/28/12 Received LEED Gold Certification on 9/28/12 Overview –New construction –2,938 ft2 –Lot size: 34,547 ft2 –Previously developed land

88 Key Objectives –Incorporate state-of-the art technology that reduces energy consumption as well as uses renewable energy sources. –Energy Performance & Special Features –The Woodland Park, NJ store is designed to improve energy performance by 46% compared to a baseline building of the same size. –On-site solar panels produce 24.7% of the projected percentage of required energy. –The store is designed with a solar drive thru canopy translucent weather protection over the drive thru lanes that generates electricity for the store. –60 Bi-facial PV Panels on the drive thru and 9 Laminate PV Panels on the Roof TD Bank – Woodland Park

99 What makes it LEED Certified? –LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The Woodland Park, NJ store is designed to achieve Gold certification. –Teller line constructed with an 80% recycled content material which simulates stone –The store is naturally daylit which reduces electricity costs for lighting and creates a pleasant atmosphere for Customers and Employees. –Automatic light sensors turn light off when there is enough daylight and reduce energy consumption.

10 Key Corporate Facts –100% of the annual electrical consumption not produced on-site will be from renewable sources. –TD Bank has purchased green electricity generated from wind farms in Texas and the Midwest in the form of renewable energy credits or RECs. –Recycling program will collect paper, glass, metal, plastic, cardboard, fluorescent lamps and batteries. –All stores have adopted a Green Cleaning Policy to reduce exposure of building occupants and maintenance personnel to potentially hazardous chemical contaminants, to reduce the Bank’s environmental impact on indoor air quality, water, quality, human health, building finishes, systems and to promote employee and customer well-being while maintaining a high standard of building cleanliness TD Bank – As a Company

Customer Impact On my business calls two out of five clients have prior knowledge of our Net-Zero initiative. I am delighted to report that in three short weeks we can proudly say we have had the best results for a Denovo pre and post GO. The Net-Zero initiative has supported us in this success. We see an average of 75 fans a day and hold an engaged conversation about our Net-Zero initiative with 25. We also had fans share that they have been inspired to engage in a green initiative at home whether it be installing rain capture/filtration system or using native species for landscaping.

Next Steps: Continue to Improve building envelope and HVAC performance –Improved roof and window R values, natural ventilation –rethinking of the use of an all electric HVAC system –plug load power management, ATMs, IT – currently plug loads equal 51% of our total energy usage Continuous building performance improvement has a ripple affect in the size of renewable energy systems. –Ultimate goal is a self contained Net Zero Ready Store, that can be constructed with a 3 year payback Share and leverage the message with the TD Bank Customer and Employees –Empower the employee to discuss our sustainability message –Green Nation Next Steps for TD Bank
