12 SEE Regional Workshop, Athens, 19 April 2006 BG Grid applications and users SALUTE (Stochastic ALgorithms for Ultra-fast Transport in sEmiconductors) is a Grid application developed for solving computationally intensive problems in quantum transport. It consists of a bunch of Monte Carlo algorithms for solving quantum kinetic equations which describe the considered model. ENVMOD (Environmental modeling) is a Grid application for air pollution transport and prediction Grid users: mainly accepted in regional VOs, but also in ESR and dteam VO

13 SEE Regional Workshop, Athens, 19 April 2006 BG Application SALUTE Wigner function 800 x 260 points t=175 fs

14 SEE Regional Workshop, Athens, 19 April 2006 BG application in ESR VO – air pollution prediction Transition from HPC to Grid computing
