7 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 2: Access to Markets NEW ACTION Exchanges of good practices in the area of compliance assistance and compliance schemes Description: Collection and analysis of existing best practices among national market surveillance authorities responsible for the implementation of product safety legislation for industrial harmonized products, to ensure better compliance and easier market access. Objective : To improve companies’ access to the single market for products by improving their compliance behaviour with the Union legislation. Implementation Mode: Existing Framework Contract 7

10 Rationale: Innovative SMEs have a challenge in translating their new ideas into market products. To do that they need access to expensive prototyping/piloting infrastructure and the related know- how, but the existing offer from technology centres is fragmented and insufficient to cover all needs. The KETs HLG has therefore recommended a targeted action in this field. Objectives: Streamlining the pan-European supply of technology platforms for SMEs across countries. Proposed approach: On the basis of preparatory work being done in 2014, launch a first pilot initiative to determine the best appraoches to encourage technology platforms owners to supply pan-European services to SMEs (for instance through vouchers). Planned duration: depending on the results of the 2015 pilot exercise, this actions might be prolonged. WORK PROGRAMME 2015 KETs : SMEs' Access to Technology Platforms 10

11 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions NEW ACTION CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY RISK TOOL Description: The CSR risk check tool will be an online tool that will allow companies to receive a concise report on the potential CSR risk on the countries they operate in. Objective : The action will support the implementation of the revised European strategy on Corporate Social Responsibility, to be adopted in the beginning of 2015. To help companies address CSR when purchasing internationally produced products, exporting products or producing products abroad. Implementation Mode: Call for Proposal 11

12 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions NEW ACTION THE EUROPEAN RESOURCE EFFICIENCY EXCELLENCE CENTRE Description: The European Resource Efficiency Excellence Centre will provide info to SMEs, directly and through partners, on: 1. The SMEs' resource efficiency performance, compared to the sector benchmark; 2. Technological options to increase this resource-efficiency in their sector; 3. Cost-effectiveness of those options, with a view to financing them. Objective : The European Resource Efficiency Excellence Centre will become a reference for interested companies and resource-efficiency intermediaries on the latest state-of-the-art in the domain, and on the competitiveness impact of different resource efficiency measures (cost savings, returns on investments), based on EU wide statistics. 13 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions NEW ACTION DESIGN BASED CONSUMER GOODS Description: To accelerate the market uptake of creative solutions with a view to improving the competitiveness of EU fashion-led companies and stimulating their sustainable economic growth and job creation. Objective : To bridge the gap between research and innovation on the one hand and market on the other hand by supporting scale-up, market replication and/or first application of projects related to novel products, services, techniques or processes in the fashion-led industries. Implementation Mode: Call for Proposal 13

14 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions NEW ACTION BIO-BASED PRODUCT MARKETS Description: The development of a robust and user-friendly guidance that should address bio-based products in public procurement. And also provide awareness raising & matchmaking activities and technical assistance to chemicals regions and clusters. Objective: The aim is to obtain a successful uptake of the guidance by as many as possible national, regional and local procurement bodies. To contribute to EU reindustrialisation facilitating chemical companies the transit to a low carbon economy and the structural change Implementation Mode: Call for Tender (2) 14

15 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions TOURISM (1) Description: The actions will contribute to the implementation of the 2010 Tourism Communication „Europe, the world's No 1 tourist destination“ and ensure a sustainable continuation to initiatives already undertaken under COSME 2014 as well as under EIP. Objectives: (1) increasing tourism demand, (2) diversifying tourism offer, (3) enhancing tourism quality, sustainability, accessibility, skills, information and innovation, (4) Improving socio-economic knowledge of the sector and (5) increasing Europe's visibility as a tourist destination as well as of its diverse destinations Implementation Mode: Calls for Proposals (3), Call for Tender (2), Framework Contracts (5), Ad-hoc Grants (2) 15

16 WORK PROGRAMME 2015 Objective 3: Framework Conditions TOURISM (2) Overview Proposed Actions: -Call for proposals to increase tourism flows in low/medium seasons encouraging tourism for seniors and youth - objective 1 -2 calls for proposals to diversify the EU tourism offer and products on transnational thematic tourism products and on European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) Awareness-Raising and Promotion – objective 2 -Calls for tender and use of framework contracts for actions to enhance tourism quality, sustainability, accessibility, skills, information and innovation - objective 3 -Ad-hoc grant with UNWTO,Eurobarometer and specific contract for content provision and management of the Virtual Tourism Observatory in order to improve the socio-economic knowledge of the sector – objective 4 -Ad-hoc grant with the European Travel Commission (ETC) and specific contract for communication actions to promote Europe as No 1 world tourism destination and increase its visibility – objective 5 16
