1 Romeo and Juliet Agenda: 1. Turn in diaries 2. Journal 3. Figurative language Absent last class? We worked on R+J diary project and “Who’s Who in Verona”. After journaling, I’ll collect your assignment from Friday (“Who’s Who In Verona”). MAKING UP THE GRAMMAR TEST? Last day to do so is this Friday. See me for a tutorial.

2 Journal 1. Review your copy of “Who’s Who in Verona” and think about Acts I- III. What event seems to cause the most problems for Romeo and Juliet? 2. Write a 3-5 sentence response on a piece of notebook paper. 3. Think in terms of answering a short answer question. Use DETAILS (quotes) to support your response. After journaling, I’ll collect your assignment from Friday (“Who’s Who In Verona).

3 Figurative Language 1. Find a monologue; write the first three words and cite the lines of the entire monologue. (Act, Scene, Lines) Then write one sentence explaining how you know it’s a monologue. 2. Find an aside. Do the same as above 3. Find a soliloquy. Same as above 4. Find an allusion. Same as above 5. Find an example of dramatic irony. Same as above 6. Write your thoughts on the play thus far. (Minimum of 3 sentences) Answer the following questions on the back of your journal assignment. Will be turned in!
