Stafford County Public Schools Parent Resource Center Promoting cooperative partnerships between families of children with special needs, schools, and community agencies.

Why would I contact the Parent Resource Center? Unfortunately, our children do not come with an owner’s manual!! As parents and family members, sometimes we would like a little more information about how to best support our children both in and out of the school environment. But where do you go to get suggestions and strategies? If you live in Stafford County, you can visit the Parent Resource Center for answers!

If I contact PRC, how do they help? Support and guidance is offered by staff members for families who have students that are experiencing difficulties or who have special needs.

How do you contact us?  The Parent Resource Center is located in room 17 of the Professional Development Center (PDC) at the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex.. 37 Stafford Ave Stafford, VA 22554.  Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 – 4:30  The phone number is 540-658-6710; fax is 540-658-6455; email is prc@staffordschools.net. prc@staffordschools.net  Also, the PRC is accessible through the main school fusion page for the county at www.prc.stafford.schoolfusion.uswww.prc.stafford.schoolfusion.us

Referral services are also provided by the PRC to help families and educators locate specific local, state and national agencies

My child has just been found eligible for special education services. What’s next? You will be invited to an Individualized Education Plan meeting. If you are not sure what that is, training on the special education process and how to participate as a member of your child’s IEP team is offered through the PRC.

Are you in the Armed Forces?  We can provide you with information about the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) services that are offered through the military.

OK, sign me up! If you are interested in information from the PRC to let you know about upcoming events, new publications, workshops or trainings, please put you name and email address on the sign up sheet on the table. Have a great school year!
