4. Dad, Scruffy never leaves me alone when I’m sad, but when I’m happy he automatically wants to play! How does he always know how I’m feeling? Scruffy is a lot smarter than you think!! Dogs pick up emotion mainly through sounds— like people! Humans and dogs share a similar social environment and process social information like we do! That’s how they can speak so effectively to each other too! Dogs used sounds to communicate to each other and other species while they were evolving a very long time ago!!sounds Not necessarily voices as sounds (though, they can respond to those too)—but dogs respond better to emotion-heavy sounds, like crying, whining, yelling, laughing and more!better
