Copying a text file to the E-Form (HTML) Editor in OSCAR

Why copy Text to the E-form Editor?

Download the HTML (and the images) For our example go to: http://oscarcanada.org/oscar-users/emr- resource/eform/eform-examples/graphical- eforms/who-growth-chart-2013 http://oscarcanada.org/oscar-users/emr- resource/eform/eform-examples/graphical- eforms/who-growth-chart-2013 Save the HTML file, the images, and the text file somewhere you can find them (like the desktop)

Upload the files to OSCAR The upload process is described here: http://oscarcanada.org/oscar-users/emr- resource/eform/how-to-upload-eforms http://oscarcanada.org/oscar-users/emr- resource/eform/how-to-upload-eforms Once you have uploaded the HTML file to the eforms and the image files to the image library (leave the text file for now), we need to edit the eform.

Go to the Eform Page (1) Click on Admin

Go to the Eform Page (2) Scroll down to EForms

Go to the Eform Page (3) Click on Upload eForm

Select the eform to Edit Click here to sort alphabetically Click here to sort by date Click at the end of the row to edit

The Editor Page This is the Editor page The text in this frame is the eform Once we have this page open, we have to open the text file and select the text file we are going to paste over top of the eform. Find the folder where you saved everything and open it up.

Find the text file Here is the text file (it says Text Document beside it) – open it in the most basic text editor you have (like notepad). Definitely do not open it in Microsoft Word or any word processing program

Open text file e.g. with note pad

Select all the text Select all the text – either right click and choose select all, or click somewhere on the page and then hold down the Ctrl and A buttons at the same time (Ctrl+A), or start at the top with the cursor and click and drag it all the way to the bottom

Copy all the text Once the text is all selected (in blue in this case) we need to copy it all. Either right click and then click copy, or Click Edit (at the top) and click copy, or Hold down the Ctrl and C buttons together (Ctrl+C)

Back to the Editor Now we need to select all the text in the editor frame so we can replace it. Same process as a few slides ago (Ctrl+A, or Right Click select all …)

Paste the Text you copied over the text in the OSCAR Editor Now we paste the copied text over the text that is selected in the OSCAR editor, replacing it. Right click and click Paste, or Ctrl+P

Save the new version of the Eform Click the Save ↑ button to save the new version in OSCAR - that’s it, you’re done.

Get out and enjoy the day!
