Internet services foster collaboration and information sharing instantly. In previous generations this information would takes significantly longer to share. How are blogs used? Corporations use blogs to share ideas and collect feedback from the public. What are Wikis and how are they used? Wikis are websites that can be edited directly by anybody. They serve to maintain a complete record of history. How are various social media sites used? Social networks allow members to personalize profiles and communicate with others. Some promote activism, while others can be used for professional purposes. What makes good social media practice? Good social media revolves around: Representation, Responsibility and Respect. A good presence allows customers to interact with the company’s social media page. The best way to engage is to follow the 4 Ms: Megaphone- to send out messages, Magnet- to attract communication, Monitoring- to pay attention to what is happening, and Mediation- to selectively engage in conversations at appropriate times.
