The Differences of Blood Pressure and Heart rate between exercisers and non exercisers when under stress By: Erin Maria DiPiano. Freshman, Academy of Notre Dame de Namur

Problems! The problem I addressed was do exercisers have lower, higher, the same, or vastly different blood pressures and heart rates than non-exercisers.

Hypothesis If a girl is an exerciser, than she will have a more manageable heart rate and blood pressure.

Materials Electronic heart rate and blood pressure machine Precor® Elliptical Machine 10 girls

Procedure First, blood pressure and heart rate were taken. Next, volunteer worked out on elliptical for 3 minutes at resistance three, speed three. Then, their blood pressure and heart rate were taken. Finally, they were allowed to leave and were given food for their efforts. Variables- the girl performing the experiment, and the blood pressure and heart rate of each. Controls- each girl had her own control in her before blood pressure and heart rate.

Data Page

Conclusion Hypothesis revisited: If a girl is an exerciser, than she will have a more manageable heart rate and blood pressure. The hypothesis was proved, the exercisers were able to get their heart rates up easily, and also bring them down easily. Basically nothing went wrong.
