The Move (7) Out of my own Expectation Great Lent 2016

Moving mountains  So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move ; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matt 17:20

The Move ① From a superficial to an intimate relationship ② From earthly to heavenly treasures ③ From defeated Adam to Victorious Adam ④ From hiding within yourself ⑤ Out of the Box ⑥ Out of disabled knowledge ⑦ Out of my Own Expectations

St Andrew of Crete  Let us go together to meet Christ on the Mount of Olives. Today he returns from Bethany and proceeds of his own free will toward his holy and blessed passion, to consummate the mystery of our salvation.

St Andrew of Crete  He who came down from heaven to raise us from the depths of sin, to raise us with himself, we are told in Scripture, above every sovereignty, authority and power, and every other name that can be named, now comes of his own free will to make his journey to Jerusalem. He comes without pomp or ostentation…

Not as you think  But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come,[a] with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Heb 9:11

Not as you used to do it  Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. Heb 9:12

It was not unholy, but it is not enough  For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Heb 9:24

Do not conform to the world  In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. 1 Pet 4:4

To see: Forget your old ways  So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, saying, ‘Go to this people and say: “Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive; Acts 28: 25,26

The Kingdom of our Father David  Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Mk 11:9,10

St Andrew of Crete  So let us spread before his feet, not garments or soulless olive branches, which delight the eye for a few hours and then wither, but ourselves, clothed in his grace, or rather, clothed completely in him. We who have been baptized into Christ must ourselves be the garments that we spread before him

St Andrew of Crete  Now that the crimson stains of our sins have been washed away in the saving waters of baptism and we have become white as pure wool, let us present the conqueror of death, not with mere branches of palms but with the real rewards of his victory. Let our souls take the place of the welcoming branches as we join today in the children’s holy song: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the king of Israel.

This week's spiritual exercise ① Spend some time in prayer discovering your wrongs expectation ( family, work, service..Etc) ② Arrange to meet with your spiritual father to help you to get out of them and to come to the marvellous Acting light of Christ.
