2 Original Repository Acquired Digital Commons hosted software in April 2012; managed by the University Archivist/Records Manager in East Texas Research Center One librarian responsible for management and marketing of IR Branded ScholarWorks@SFA Conducted presentations to faculty Seed content entered into Digital Commons

3 Lack of commitment and focus regarding development of the repository The were strict constraints on content that limited participation Faculty interest and participation rates were low; approximately 250 documents were submitted to the IR in 2012-2013 (1 ½ years) Problems Identified

4 The Library recognized the need to move forward with further enhancement and development of the repository. In Fall 2013, the Library created the Center for Digital Scholarship (CDS) to focus on digital research, scholarship, and management of digital platforms. With staff drawn from other Library departments, the CDS implemented changes for a repository reboot. Four staff members work on various facets of the repository along with other job responsibilities. The Reboot

5 Define mission and purpose of CDS in relation to ScholarWorks with stronger administrative support and guidance Create job descriptions and workflows for each staff member that reflect a renewed commitment Share responsibility among staff members; hold frequent meetings with staff and guests; include written agendas; encourage discussion and humor! Rebrand and redesign the repository: ScholarWorks Encourage more diverse content within the IR Develop talking points and brief promotional demonstration Reboot Strategies
