8 Muslim consumer expenditure globally on food and lifestyle sectors (travel, clothing, pharma/ personal care, media/ recreation) is being estimated by this Report to be $1.62 trillion in 2012 and expected to reach $2.47 trillion by 2018. 1.6-2 billion Muslims 2.2 billion Christians Global total population – 7.4 billion

13 Natural Growth Rates  Globally, Muslims have the highest fertility rate, an average of 3.1 children per woman—well above replacement level (2.1), the minimum typically needed to maintain a stable population.  Christians are second, at 2.7 children per woman.  If current trends continue, it is predicted by the year 2100 that about 1% more of the world's population will be Muslim (35%) than Christian (34%) (Pew Research Data)
