3. 2016 Draft Vision Statement Active modes of transportation, such as bicycling and walking, will be an integral, convenient and safe part of daily life in Monterey County for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.

4. Goal #1: Active Transportation trips Increase proportion of trips accomplished by biking and walking

Goal #1: Active Transportation Trips Objectives:Programs: Increase number of bicycle trips from 0.7% in 2014 to ___% by the year 2022 Increase number of walking trips from 3.1% in 2014 to ___% by the year 2022 Continue to support bike month activities, Ciclovia and other active transportation activities Develop a bicycle and pedestrian count program

Continue to host bicycle safety trainings, and encourage participants to become League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructor. Continue to support bicycle rodeos in schools.
