4. 4 1 John 1:5-10 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

5. 5 The All-Important Conscience Romans 2:14-16 “their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them” The conscience accuses us if our actions are not in conformity with our own understanding of what is right and wrong. The conscience does not make the laws, it merely sits in judgment on whether the laws have been obeyed. “It’s No Big Deal”

6. 6 The All-Important Conscience Satan would have our conscience to be weak and defiled and calloused. 1 Timothy 1:5 “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith…” “It’s No Big Deal”

7. 7 Not an infallible guide: John 16:2 – “…the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.” Acts 23:1 – “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” Just because we act in good conscience does not mean that we are without sin. “It’s No Big Deal”

8. 8 Must be educated by God’s Word:  What is the plan of salvation, worship, work of the church? (Rom. 10:3)  What is immodest dress, immoral behavior, sensual activity, covetousness, corrupt language, ungodly entertainment? (1 Tim. 2:9-10; Eph. 5:3-7) “It’s No Big Deal”

9. 9 Can be calloused & defiled: Eph. 4:18-19 – “…being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.” “It’s No Big Deal”

10. 10 Can be calloused & defiled: Titus 1:15-16 – “To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.” “It’s No Big Deal”

11. 11 Can be calloused & defiled: 1 Tim. 4:1-2 – “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron…” “It’s No Big Deal”

12. Hear the Gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (Mk. 16:16) Repent of Your Sins (Acts 17:30) Confess Jesus as Lord (Rom. 10:9-10) Be Baptized for Forgiveness of Sins (Acts 2:38) Live Faithfully until You Die (Rev. 2:10) Will You Become A Christian?
