4 THE PROS AND CONS OF PARTNERSHIPS PROSCONS Increases the availability of services to residents by having more locations and varied hours Decreases financial impact to residents who would otherwise have to travel to a location that had DMV service Reduces workload and wait times at State DMV offices Reduces State expenditures for employees salary and benefits Provides revenue opportunities for small business owners Small state staff to train, monitor and audit partners Physical distance between DMV and Contractor offices State expense involved in traveling to remote locations to audit and monitor partners No authority over personnel Increased opportunity for fraud Perception by state workers that contractors are taking potential state positions Partners have different priorities then a state run office (profit over service).
