3 WHAT ARE GRAINS?  Grains are any food made out of wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal, barley or another cereal grain product. Bread, pasta, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, tortillas, and grits are examples of grain products.  The amount of grains you need to eat on a daily basis depends on your age, sex and level of activity.  Click the piece of (bread) in the right hand corner to see the Daily Grain Chart.
