1 M.B.A. PROGRAMME

2 Introduction The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)is a Post-Graduate course offered by Princeton College, it is a Two- year i.e., four semester Full time Day programme, affiliated to Osmania University, governed by the rules and regulations defined by Osmania University.

3 Duration per Semester Duration of instruction : 14 -16 Weeks Preparation Holidays : 7-10 Days

4 Promotion Rules A student will be promoted subject to the following rules: I Semester to II Semester A student should put in a minimum of 75% of attendance in aggregate in all the subjects put together of the Semester (65% in the case of medical exemption) and should be registered for the University exam for the I Semester.

5 Promotion Rules II Semester to III Semester A student should put in a minimum of 75% of attendance in aggregate in all the subjects put together of the Semester (65% in the case of medical exemption) and should have passed at least 50% of Theory subjects of I & II Semesters put together. (Viva Voce and Lab not considered for this purpose)

6 Promotion Rules III Semester to IV Semester A student should put in a minimum of 75% of attendance in aggregate and should be registered for the University exam for the III semester.

7 Evaluation System 1. All subject’s of MBA Program will carry a Maximum of 100 Marks each. 2. Duration of the university examination for all the subject’s is three hours each. 3. All the subject’s will have 80% marks for university examination and 20% marks for internal examination. 4. In case of subject’s where practical/lab component is involved, of the total 100 marks, 60% marks are for university examination, 20% marks are for internal evaluation and 20% marks are for practical/lab examination.

8 Evaluation System Internal Evaluation (Semester Wise) I - Internal = 15 Marks II – Internal = 15 Marks Assignment = 5 Marks [Total Internal Marks per Subject (20) = Average of I & II Internals (15) + Assignment (5)]

9 External Evaluation Pattern External Evaluation 10 short answer questions (10*2 = 20 Marks) 5 essay questions (5*12 = 60 Marks) Note: Equal Weight age would be given to all the five units of each subject, whereby internal choice for each essay question would be given from each unit separately).

10 Internal Evaluation Pattern Internal Paper I & II 5 Definitions (5*1 = 5 Marks) 10 Multiple Choice Questions (10*1/2 = 5 Marks) 10 Fill in the Blanks (10*1/2 = 5 Marks) Assignment 20 concept questions, to be answered at home and submitted (5 Marks).

11 Conduct of Examinations At the end of odd numbered semesters viz., I and III, examinations for these Semesters only would be conducted. At the end of even numbered semesters, during II Semester examinations (II Regular and I Backlog & improvement) would be conducted. During IV Semester, examinations will be conducted for all Semesters i.e., (I to IV ). The students appearing for regular, backlog and improvement can get registered for the above examinations as per the norms of the University.

12 Electives (Major and Minor) MBA Program offers Electives (Specialization) as “Major” and “Minor”. Every student has to choose one Major [FIN / MKT / HRM] and one Minor [FIN / MKT / HRM / SYS] specialization. Note: “Major” and “Minor” chosen should be different. For example, a student wants to “Major in Finance” and “Minor in Marketing”. In such case, student needs to study the Major subjects of Finance elective Investment Management (III Semester), Financial Risk Management (IV Semester) and one subject each from the Minor of III and IV semesters of both Finance and Marketing respectively.

18 Project Work The Project Report Work should be carried out in the Final Year of MBA Programme. The students are required to do project work in the area of Specialization under the active guidance of Internal Faculty Member assigned to the student. The Project work usually consists of selecting a Topic, gather relevant data, analyze and interpret the same in a systematic and scientific manner. The Project Report should be submitted to the University 30 days (one month) before commencement of Final Semester Examinations. Award of Grades For Project Report and Viva Voce: Project Report and Viva Voce will be evaluated and awarded grades as per the following percentages of Marks obtained. Grade A - 70% and above Marks Grade B - 60% and above but below 70% Marks. Grade C - 50% and above but below 60% Marks. Grade D - 40% and above but below 50% Marks.
