Self-Reporting Assessment Tool The Four Rankings: Standard – Minimum requirements Achievement – Going above expectations Excellent – Excelling above & beyond Distinct – Highly distinguished Areas of Assessment 5 Principles – Academics – Community Service – Cultural Awareness – Social Interaction – Morals & Ethics Entity Management HQ/Regional Compliance Sisterhood Empowerment

4 Quick Facts Catalyst For Change! Will replace ‘End of Semester Report’ paperwork Still submitted on BGConnexion Awards will be given yearly at national events Purpose Assesses the areas your entity can improve upon through self-evaluation Provides goal setting for entities Unifies our sisterhood in areas assesssed

5 How will SOD benefit your entity? This assessment will allow your entity to set yearly goals Ensure your entity is meeting at least the standard requirements but striving for Distinction! Ideally this tool will take a step in unifying our sisterhood in the various areas assessed Recognition annually in areas of Academics, Community Service and HQ/Regional Compliance

6 ACADEMICS Entity Cumulative GPAEnforcement of Academic Probation & Policies Academic Programming & Incentives Distinct 3.75 and above Follows Individual Academic Probation as outlined in the SLG Policy Manual + all 3 of the following 4 of the following are utilized Excellent 3.50-3.74 Follows Individual Academic Probation as outlined in the SLG Policy Manual +2 of the following 3 of the following are utilized Achievement 3.00-3.49 Follows Individual Academic Probation as outlined in the SLG Policy Manual +1 of the following: 1.Academic Standards for Executive Officers 2.All members submit study hours 3.Individual members on academic probation meet weekly with academic chair 2 of the following are utilized Standard 2.75 -2.99 Follows Individual Academic Probation as outlined in the SLG Policy Manual 1 of the following are utilized 1.Academic Improvement Program 2. Academic Chair/Advisor 3.Academic Recognition Programs 4.Academic Improvement Workshops

7 COMMUNITY SERVICE Community ServicePhilanthropyCampus Involvement & Leadership Distinct Entity hosts an ongoing signature community service initiative Entity creates a significant local impact on behalf of Breast Cancer Research and/or TRiO programs Entity Co-sponsors an event with a community organization and/or university organization Excellent Entity participates in an ongoing signature community service initiative Entity raises awareness by hosting a philanthropic event related to Breast Cancer Awareness and/or TRiO Program Entity financially sponsors member participation in leadership development opportunities outside of Sigma Lambda Gamma Achievement Entity participates in two or more community service projects per semester Entity raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness and/or TRiO Programs Members hold leadership positions in campus organizations outside of Sigma Lambda Gamma Standard Entity participates in at least one community service per semester Entity participates in a philanthropic event related to Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Trio Program Members participate in campus organizations outside of Sigma Lambda Gamma

8 CULTURAL AWARENESS Community Education (External) Member Education (Internal) Distinct Entity has established an on-going signature Cultural Awareness program/event. Entity has established an on-going internal program that educates members of various cultures. Excellent Entity co/hosts 1+ program(s) focused on the culture of other under-represented groups in the community not represented in the entity. Entity hosts 1+ internal program(s) focused on cultures not represented within the entity’s membership. Achievement Entity co/hosts 1+ program(s) focused on the culture of the individual members. Entity hosts 1+ internal program(s) focused on the culture of individual members. Standard Entity shows support by attending Cultural Awareness events hosted by another group. Entity has established a safe space for members to educate other members on their own cultures on a regular basis.

9 MORALS & ETHICS Code of ConductPersonal Development Distinct Entity recognizes a sister of the month for her kindness, honesty, etc. + below Entity hosts a discussion/workshop based on Healthy Living: Eating, Exercising, Relationships, Language, Self-Talk, Leadership, Decision Making + below Excellent Entity holds members accountable for code of conduct by utilizing the Sisterhood Enhancement Committee + below Entity participates in discussions/workshops based on Healthy Living: Eating, Exercising, Relationships, Language, Self-Talk, Leadership, Decision Making + below Achievement Entity has code of conduct for sister to follow + below Entity holds sisters accountable for their personal goals where appropriate + below Standard Entity members conduct themselves according to the Ritual, values and policies of SLG Entity sets aside time each semester for sisters to reflect on their own personal development and set goals

10 SOCIAL INTERACTION Professional DevelopmentSocial Events Distinct Entity participates in 4 of the following Entity hosts an ongoing non-alcoholic social event for the campus and local community Excellent Entity participates in 3 of the following Entity hosts a non-alcoholic social event for the campus and local community Expectations Entity participates in 2 of the following Entity volunteers to assist in the implementation of a non-alcoholic social event hosted by a campus department Standards Entity participates in 1 of the following: 1.Resume workshop 2.Interview skills workshop/Practice Interview 3.Professional Etiquette Program 4.Other Professional Development Entity participates in / supports a non- alcoholic social event hosted by a campus department

11 SISTERHOOD EMPOWERMENT RitualSisterhood Enhancement Committee Associate Member Education & Retention Recruitment Distinct Entity conducts a Ritual and Values retreat annually + below Entity hosts awards banquet for sister recognition once or twice a year + below Retention of associate members is 100% Each term entity recruits women of all class rank, asks campus professionals for recommendations + below Excellent Entity has Rituals memorized + below SEC Manual is followed: regular meetings, sister recognition, bonding, hearings Entity regularly evaluates the AMEP by having newly initiated sisters evaluate their AMEP & retention of associate members is 85%+ Entity builds relationship with interests at least one semester before induction + below Achievement Entity hosts regularly scheduled practices for Rituals + below SEC is used for hearings only The entity submits any supplemental activities/additions to headquarters for approval & retention of associate members is 80%+ Entity maintains a detailed contact list of perspective recruits and maintains up-to- date marketing materials (pamphlets, brochures, presentations, website, listserve) + below Standard Induction & Initiation ceremonies are performed as prescribed by the Ritual of SLG Entity has established and maintained a Sisterhood Enhancement Committee Entity uses current National Associate Member Education Program & retention of associate members is 75% Entity plans a detailed schedule for the term including recruitment events and information meetings

12 ENTITY MANAGEMENT Members Communication Meeting Etiquette Officer TransitionCouncil Involvement Financial Management Distinct Entity has 20+full- time students President meets one- on-one with Entity Advisor weekly + below Entity has a retreat 2x a year, follows Roberts Rules of Order + below Entity uses to officer transition manual + below A member of the entity Presides over the council Makes a donation to educational foundation once a year + below Excellent Entity has 15-20 full- time students Entity Advisor, Faculty Advisor or Greek Advisor attends 1-2 entity meetings per month + below Meeting agenda is sent out at least 24 hours prior to meeting, minutes are sent out 48 hours after meeting + below Entity maintains officer information and historical records in officer file+ below A member of the entity holds a position on the council Entity updates budget, pays for two delegates for all national events, entity takes sisters to SEC who aren’t paying dues on time + below Achievement Entity has 10-15 full- time students Entity utilizes SLG’s Protocol for Communication + below President begins meetings at scheduled time with agenda and + below Entity attends university transition workshops or meet with an advisor to review elected position+ below Member(s) attend(s) Greek council meetings on a regular basis Maintains a positive balance in entity account, reviews budget for new academic year & balance is reported to entity regularly + below Standard Entity has 10+ full- time students Entity engages in proactive communication with Entity Advisor, Campus Greek Advisor, Regional Director and Headquarters Staff Entity conducts regularly scheduled business meetings Officers are elected annually & attend officers retreat (as stated in Constitution) Entity actively participates in minimum requirements with respective Greek Council or university office Entity maintains a bank account in the name of the established entity

13 REGIONAL & NATIONAL COMPLIANCE Paperwork (Intake, Grades) Risk Management Policy Document Review Advisory Committee Distinct Transcripts sent all together/grade report from university on time + below Entity review-laws FIPG Policies in Policy Manual and assesses risks accordingly + below National, local and campus policies are reviewed annually + below Entity has an advisory committee consisting of 4+ people Excellent National paperwork is submitted correctly 2 weeks before deadline, including induction/initiation Contracts/liability insurance submitted with paperwork on time + below Entity asks Regional Director about any policy that is not clear + below Academic/intake advisor + below Achievement National paperwork is submitted correctly prior to deadline All events are registered at least 4 weeks in advance or in the beginning of the semester Local policies are in line with national policies and do not supersede those + below Entity elects faculty advisor + below Standard National paperwork is submitted on time All events are registered on time National and local policy documents are reviewed by entity annually Entity elects a chapter advisor
