2. Inertia Whether it is moving or at rest, every object resists any change to its motion Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist change in its motion

5. Mass Mass is the amount of matter in an object. The SI unit for mass is the kilogram (kg) You describe the mass of smaller objects in terms of grams – Nickel= about 5 grams – Bicycle= 10 kilograms – Small car= 1,000 kilograms

6. Inertia and Mass The amount of inertia an object has depends on its mass The greater the mass of an object, the greater its inertia.
