Attraction and color The effect of color in human relationships

Introduction Color theory is one of the mysteries that we have yet to understand. Color have bigger role in our daily lives, but everyone seems to forget that it is what give humanity the reason to coexist with one another. Color brings culture, understanding, survival and most important relationships. Charles Darwin (1800’s) was one of the first scientist to discover this effect in other species. He discover that birds reproduce in order to survive and keep theirs species alive, and one important factor to achieve survival was color. Just as this birds coexist using color, humans are also well organized and we use color to do so, but he big question is if color has a great impact to our daily lives, does it also affect our emotions?.

Literature review Andrew J. Elliot and Daniela Niesta 2008 (Romantic Red: Red Enhances Men’s Attraction to Woman Huijin Liu 2010 (Red, Rank, and Romance in Women Viewing Men This two experiments said that red was the color of choice when it came to attraction from both sex. They used background colors to make their experiments.

Red color hair In a different experiment done in France. Hair color and courtship: Blond women received more courtship solicitations and redhead men received more refusals by Nicolas Gueguen. The results didn’t not favor the red headed participants. It was said that people with red hair was choose only three percent of the time. When they were at nightclub waiting for someone to asked them to dance with them.

The big Question Why?

Hypothesis Looking at this controversy I came to a hypothesis that may solve this puzzle. I believe that red is not the ultimate color for attraction but rather brightness has more to do than the color itself. For this reason I hypothesis that the brighter people dress the more attraction they are going to get from the opposite sex.

Methodology The experiment will use four experimental groups in order to prove the hypothesis. This groups will be from males and females from different backgrounds. the experiment will be implemented to males from the age twenty to twenty-five years old. Their backgrounds would be Caucasian, African American, Asian, Hispanics. They will be separate in groups of ten. Afterword's, the experiment will be about how much attention they get from females coming their way.

Be honest.  First, second, third, fourth, fifth, six.

Conclusion In conclusion this research plan to acquire reasonable information to prove the thesis. Brighter colors tend to attract more the opposite sex than pale colors. The results will be collected and prove that color indeed have an effect to human relationships. For years we known that other species attract the opposite sex (Charles Darwin 1850). But we need to figured out if the same matter affects to us humans, for this purpose this research will be implemented and hope for the results to be to the public’s agreement.
