3 The European Union Rationale CONCORD project was developed as a result of identifying a specific need for training in the Romanian education system. TVET provides training for dozens of university qualifications. This diversity emphasizes the distance between the general theory and the specific training needs which could be realized through specialized modules. The project CONCORD, identified the needs of teachers from vocational and technical school, that have not been addressed in previous training programs funded from budget or through financial assistance grant.

4 The European Union OBJECTIVES The general objective of the CONCORD project is the development of personal knowledge for teachers in technical highschools, in a complex “blended” learning system that includes: class room studying, aided by trainers; individual studying; on-line studying, in an interactive learning environment. Specific objectives: Development of 11 training programs, certified by CNFP; The development of an e-learning platform; The training of a minimum of 600 persons from vocational and technical schools (the target group).

5 The European Union Activities A1. Conducting a study in order to determine what the continuous forming programs will contain according to the needs that have been identified on the labor market and in society based on knowledge and according to the interest of the teachers and the technical schools; A2. Promoting the importance of continuous training for vocational and technical school teachers; A3. Development of a curricula for training the teachers; A4. Development of 11 training programs for teachers from vocational and technical schools ; A5. Certification of the training programs in four continuous professional training centers; A6. Development and implementation an e-learning platform in order to improve the training process;

6 The European Union THE METHODOLOGY / STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMMES 11 professional continuous training programmes will be developed, containing two types of programmes, according to O.M.Ed.C. no. 4611/2005, with a number of maximum de 340 hours and 105 credit points: I. Medium training programmes, containing : A. Training programme: Management and communication (90 hours and 30 CP), containing : 1. two mandatory subjects (25 hours / 8 CP each = 50 hours / 16 CP in total): Communication Pedagogy; Class Management; 2. two compulsory subjects from Package 1 of O.M.Ed.C. no. 4611/2005 (8 subjects were sent for evaluation and 4 subjects were eventually offered) (16 hours / 5 CP each [6 course hours, 9 hours of practical activities, 1 hours of evaluation] = 32 hours / 10 CP in total) 3. one compulsory subject form Package 2 (4 subjects were sent for evaluation and 2 subjects were eventually offered) (8 hours / 4 CP each [3 course hours, 4 hours of practical activities, 1 hour of evaluation] = 16 hours / 8 CP in total). [Each trainee receives a certificate for each module. A, B or A+B can be chosen.] B. Training programme: Informational and Communication Techiques (ICT) (90 hours and 30 CP) : 2 subjects were offered: beginner and advanced. II. Long-term training, thematic programmes, split into 4 domanins and 11 subdomains, containing : 1.2 fundamental training subjects (35+36 hours / 9+9CP) 2.2 specialization training subjects (40+49 hours / 10+15 CP) [The trainee can receive a certificate for each one of the two proposed modules, “Fundamental training” or “Specialization training”]
