2 The term "environmental art" is used in a variety of different contexts: it can be used to refer to art describing the natural world, art that celebrates personal engagement with the natural world ("art in nature"), and to the practices of ecological artists, whose work directly addresses environmental issues.\ In a general sense, it is art that helps improve our relationship with the natural world

3 Environmental art seeks to show how humanity should be grounded and connected to the natural world socially, philosophically, economically, and spiritually Informs and interprets nature and its processes, or educates us about environmental problems Is concerned with environmental forces and materials, creating artworks affected or powered by wind, water, lightning, even earthquakes Reclaims and remediates damaged environments, restoring ecosystems in artistic and often aesthetic ways
