The toxicity types that are of concern are both acute oral and dermal toxicity Class IA and IB ---- Products in this class are the most toxic pesticides and must be handles with extreme caution. Only farmers actively involved in production should use these items

28 Class II --- Products in this class are less toxic but can still do serious harm if not applied correctly. Protective gear as outlined on the label should be used before use of any pesticide. Class III --- Class IV --- Products in these classes while less toxic than I and II must still be handled with care as they can be irritable to skin and respiratory passages especially in high dosages.

29 The following warning symbols and Phrases are required on the main panel of all labels and are displayed in the middle of the colour code at the base of the label: 1. Class Ia &Ib pesticide – “Skull and Cross Bones” with the warning phrase “Danger – Poison” at the base 2. Class II pesticides – “X in box “ with the warning phrase “Danger” 3. Class III pesticides – “X in box” with the warning phrase “Caution” 4. Class IV pesticides – “X in box” with warning phrase “Caution”
