9 It is adult’s world. They make the decisions, create the laws. Make the money, and have all of the freedoms. But there have been exceptions. Take for example, these child visionaries boys and girls who have changed our world through their good actions. Let’s read some of these amazing young people.

11 Dylan Mahalingam

12 At the age of nine Dylan Mahalingom became the co-founder of Lil’s MDGs,a nonprofit international development and youth empowerment organization.

13 He raised 780,000 US dollars for tsunami relief and more than 10 million dollars for hurricane relief. He has built a dormitory in Tibet, a mobile hospital in India, and a school play ground serving AIDS orphans in Uganda.

15 Alexandra ‘Alex’ Scott

16 Alexandra ‘Alex’ Scott was born in Connecticut in 1996,and was diagnosed with neroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, shortly before she turned one.

17 At the age of four she started a lemonade stand to raise money for doctors to help children. Thus she created Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. It is working for cancer research.

18 She passed away in August 2004 at the age of eight. Alex’s lemonade stand makes a difference for children with cancer.

19 Ryan Hreljac

20 In 1998, six years old Ryan was shocked to learn that children in Africa had to walk many km everyday just to fetch water. He decided to build a well for a village in Africa.

21 His first well was built in 1999 at the Angolo Primary School in a northern Ugandan village. Ryan founded Ryan’s Well Foundation.

22 Ryan’s Well Foundation has completed 667 projects in16 countries, bringing access to clean water and sanitation to more than 714,000 people.

26 9 years old Katie brought a tiny cabbage seedling home from school and her cabbage of about 40 pounds helped to feed more than 275 people.
