11 Page 11 Tasks of the Equality Ombudsman  Monitor compliance with the statutory prohibitions of discrimination and unfavourable treatment due to parental leave. –Investigate individual complaints. –Bring claims for compensation (damages) in court.  Monitor compliance with obligation of employers and education providers to take pro-active measures to prevent discrimination.  Provide advice and support.  Promote equal rights and opportunities.  Propose legislative amendments and other anti-discrimination measures to the Government.
