3 Just a reminder: Why did we want to undertake this project? The situation in Europe affect the professional social work in EU and should be met by new educational programmes. We know that: ◦ Labour migration ◦ Immigration to EU ◦ Cultural diversity ◦ Poverty ◦ Alcohol and drug abuse ◦ Child and family problems Are common challenges, and need intercultural cooperation and development of methods to strengthen social cohesion and reduce ethnocentrisme and social exclusion

5 WP1- Virtual Campus for international Social Work Aims - Deliverables Realisation of a shared/tuned Framework Agreement for this specialisation; Bologna aligned and tuned with relevant national quality standards. Work delivered Proposal for a new future Consortium Agreement WP1.1. Report from VIRCLASS to Virtual Campus Based on a partner survey/telephone interviews. To be done: – An overview of placement posibilities – An overview of study abroad possibilities – A signed Agreement – A published Agreement

6 International Specialisation in Social Work – BA level IS including: – E-learning courses ( up to 30 ECTS credits) – Placement and/or study abroad (up to 30 ECTS credits) – BA thesis in English with a comparative international perspective on social work

7 WP2 E-learning Module in comparative Community Work Aims - Deliverables Developing module on Community Work /Community Development Pilot execution of new CW/CD module in the VIRCLASS setting, 15 ECTS and 55 students Evaluation of the pilot Work delivered Curriculum plan 15 ECTS credits Pilot started 25 January – ends 7 June Intake of 51 students Evaluation of the process is going on both with students and teachers To be done: – Finish the course – Evaluation report

8 WP3- Virtual Learning material Aims - Deliverables ◦ Functional and technical upgrading of the existing VIRCLASS system and facilities into a Virtual Campus ◦ Upgrading the competences of the technical /media staff involved ◦ Developing VirCamp learning materials for the new module(s) ◦ 6 screen lectures ◦ 10 triggers ◦ 1 case Work done A new Web Portal is under construction A workshop for media staff and academics at HiB in March 2009 A Madrid-Patones meeting in May 2009 A virtual book designed including: 10 screen lectures 10 triggers 1 case

9 Project achievements: Upgrading competences of the staff Workshop at HiB with 14 media and academic staff from 7 partner institutions, HiB, INH, UCM, HHJ, HSM, LPA, KHKempen Production of virtual learning material involving 16 people from all partners except for: HIBO, ULHT, HSMA Developed competence based Curriculum Plan Developed a course programme for the e-learning module in Community Work for 16 weeks E-teaching competences, 7 teachers involved in the CW module from: HiB, INH, HHJ, ISMT, HSM, HIBO, KHKempen

14 Summary of things to be done Deciding the administrative and financial model for a future Consortium including the VIRCLASS and SW-VirCamp courses and the administration of the SW-VirCamp webportal. Develop and signing a new Consortium Agreement for a sustainable organisation Clarification of teachers involved Clarification of the administrative institution Clarification of workshare

15 Things to be done Clarifying the starting point for the e-learning courses 2010/11 – Mapping the adjustments needed – Who can participate directly – Who will need more time for planning Evaluation of the pilot course in CW – Adjustments needed to be done Deciding when to advertice the courses for 2010/11

16 Things to be done Mapping the possibilities for study abroad among partners: – Courses in English/or courses open for students from neighbour countries Mapping the possibilities for practice placements among partners Creating a ”bank” with exchange courses (campus courses) and practice places Developing a webportal for the Virtual Campus
