RAILDATA is managed by the General Assembly in which all members are represented. RAILDATA applications (operation, maintenance, and development of new functions) are managed by special assemblies which are composed of representatives of involved RU. 17 RUs are currently members of RAILDATA. About 20 million messages are handled by the central system per month.

ORFEUS ensures the exchange of railway CIM consignment notes data between the co-operating railway undertakings (RU) using a Central Data System (CDS). The data are delivered by the shipping or the first ORFEUS RU and via ORFEUS distributed to other RU involved in the transportation. With ORFEUS, it is no longer necessary to collect the consignment note data at the borders. ORFEUS improves the speed and reliability of the international freight rail transport. ORFEUS allows significant cost savings. ORFEUS offers for each partner a single interface.

RAILDATA - Data exchange between the RU © RAILDATA 16.05.20136 Exchange of commercial data via ORFEUS Within ORFEUS currently two messages agreed by all participating RUs are used to transmit the commercial data –CTD (Create Transport Dossier) contains more than 90% of the CIM Consignment Note information is still used by some RUs for transports accompanied by paper consignment note –ECN (Electronic Consignment Note) contains 100% of the CIM Consignment Note information is used –as stand-alone message for paper accompanied transports –within a sequential message flow for paperless transports The data set is identified by a special key (dossier number) The data can be re-used, but are not stored separately in a special data base The data are distributed only to the participating RUs, no third party (operator, customer,...) is connected

With the help of a special working group Raildata will elaborate the technical specifications –Message Description –Data Catalogue –Message Flow needed to realise a combined CIM/SMGS Electronic Consignment Note message

RAILDATA - Data exchange between the RU © RAILDATA 16.05.20138 Efforts to increase the Number of Users Inviting new potential members to join –some Eastern railways have already agreed to join under the condition to be allowed to use a different message version (RCA 4.13) –therefore RAILDATA has realised the acceptance and the forwarding of this message as well as a converter to and from the ORFEUS CTD message Working on a concept to create a web based tool to allow small railways to use the ORFEUS and/or ECN application in an easy way by –entering data manually on a guided web page per upload of formatted files –forwarding of data per requested download email, fax, printout

ISR allows the exchange of information about the movements of wagons (both loaded and empty) in international traffic through a central platform. The message broker ensures the reception of messages, their validation as well as format conversion and distribution. All data like the wagon movement events and the transport description are stored in the central ISR database for the transport duration (max. 15 days). A subset of the consignment note data is taken over from ORFEUS to match the events to a Transport Description (TD). After a transport has finished, a part of the transport description as well as the first and last event is used to create an Experienced Transport Plan (ETP). So for new transports running under the same conditions the expected last event can be shown. Due to strict filtering rules, only RU can access the ISR database based on their role in the transportation. The relationship with the customers remains within each RU. The ISR information is available via web view web services data forwarding.
