5 Opening Business Meeting, Panhellenic Luncheon and educational sessions Carol Rasco, CEO of Reading Is Fundamental, was the guest speaker at the Panhellenic Luncheon. The theme was “For Good.” Educational sessions allowed time for members to learn more about Kappa and discover new ideas. A redesigned The Key was introduced at the opening business meeting. Linda Price Patton, Oklahoma State, was awarded the 2014 Loyalty Award.

8 Foundation Breakfast Louise Bayless Parsley, Texas, was the guest speaker, offering humor and insight to attendees. The Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir got everyone up and dancing! Through the One Heart. One Kappa. campaign, the Foundation was able to raise over $250,000.

9 Presidents Dinner, fleur. and Sapphire Presidents Dinner showcased many of our former Fraternity Presidents and included a wonderful speech by former President, Marian Klingbeil Williams, Missouri. We were introduced to many of Kappa’s former Presidents, and later collegians and alumnae had a wonderful time at fleur. and Sapphire! Collegians attended the sisterhood event fleur., while alumnae were treated to a brand new sisterhood event, Sapphire!

11 Foundation Walk and Memorial Service We honored those we loved and lost in the last Biennium. To see a full list of those remembered, go to the Convention Resources page at www.kappa.org/2014Convention. The Foundation Walk got people up bright and early for a nice jaunt through Discovery Green Park.

12 Alumnae Achievement Award Presentation Six outstanding women were honored at the Alumnae Achievement Award Presentation. After the event, the attending award recipients held a Q&A to answer questions from the Convention body. Read more about these amazing women in the Spring 2014 edition of The Key!

13 Afternoon Tea and RIF Luncheon 50-, 60- and 75-year members were honored at the Afternoon Tea and received pins to commemorate their loyalty to Kappa. A lively luncheon was complete with a book character skit about the 10 th anniversary of Kappa’s partnership with Reading Is Fundamental.

14 Candlelight Banquet Kim Mahan Mirabelli, Villanova, was Toastmistress and Vicki Lipnic, Allegheny, was the keynote speaker. Candlelight Banquet, the Passing of the Fraternity Jewelry and the Passing of the Light were a wonderful way to end a fabulous Convention. Looking forward to 2016!
