6 Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) The CHSP provides entry level support services. The CHSP brought together: Commonwealth HACC programme; Planned respite from National Respite for Carers programme; Day Therapy Centres; and also Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged. 5

12 Provider Responsibilities Police Checks Need to be not less than three years old Transition period for existing staff until 30 June 2017 Complaints Mechanisms Continue to have internal complaints mechanism Aged Care Complaints Commissioner Subcontracting Do not need to seek departments approval Providers to maintain a subcontracting register

13 Provider Responsibilities Assets Assets over $10,000 must be approved by the department Maintain Assets Register Insurance Need to have adequate insurance appropriate to activities Continuity of VMIA coverage for CSOs in 2016-17

14 CHSP Financial Arrangements Payments Quarterly in advance First CHSP payment in July following execution of agreement Bank Accounts No need for a separate bank account Underspends Raise expenditure issues with the Grant Agreement Manager Unspent funds will need to be repaid

15 Summary No change before 1 July 2016 – business as usual Letters of offer for CHSP Grant Agreements issued this month 3 year agreement and funds stability Return Signed agreement within 28 days First quarterly CHSP payment following the execution of agreements Final HACC monthly payment in June CHSP Manual, Guidelines, Good Practice Guide and Client Contribution Framework available at www.dss.gov.au/CHSPwww.dss.gov.au/CHSP
